With any briar that features the Rovera's singular Meteora carving, there is a cool situation going on wherein art contains art. The Meteora has to be one of the most imaginative rustications out there. The combination of the small, framing bevels and free circles has always reminded me of a Jackson Pollack painting. The smooth rim rounds to such an extent, that hints (just hints) of the calabash come to mind. The straight forward, always complementary combination of black & tan helps to reinforce an already solid sense of the classic.
